Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) with Integrated Master of Business Administration (MBA)

The SwissEU™ Doctor of Business Administration with Integrated Master of Business Administration (DBA – MBA) is designed for experienced professionals, managers and business leaders seeking doctoral-level development while simultaneously completing an integrated Master of Business Administration qualification.

Rather than treating the MBA and DBA as two separate programmes, SwissEU™ integrates the MBA learning outcomes, management competencies and applied assessments directly into the broader DBA journey.

Learners progress through advanced business and management studies, practice-based research and doctoral research within one coordinated academic pathway.

Subject to successful completion of the respective academic requirements, learners may receive:

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) from EuroAmerican Institute, Malta
  • Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) from EuroAmerican Institute, Malta
  • Specialised Master’s qualification from EIMT Switzerland
  • Specialised Doctor of Business Administration from EIMT Switzerland

The MBA is therefore not positioned as a separate programme that must be completed before beginning the DBA. It is integrated concurrently within the DBA pathway, with the MBA qualification awarded once the applicable Master’s-level requirements have been successfully fulfilled.

The Power of Combine

SWISS + EUROPEAN QUALIFICATIONS

European MBA + DBA

The EAI component provides two complementary qualifications within the integrated pathway. The MBA validates advanced professional capability in areas such as strategy, leadership, organisational management, finance, marketing and business development. The DBA extends this foundation toward doctoral-level professional practice, advanced research capability and the completion of an original practice-based Doctoral Dissertation. The two qualifications are academically connected within the same pathway rather than positioned as unrelated programmes.

Swiss Master + DBA

EIMT adds a specialised Swiss qualification dimension. The Master’s qualification reflects the learner’s approved professional specialisation, while the DBA specialisation is aligned with the learner’s doctoral research direction. This enables learners to demonstrate both: Broad business leadership capability and Specialised professional expertise at Master’s and Doctoral levels.

The Power of Combine

Management + Research Master + Doctorate European + Swiss General Management + Specialisation Professional Practice + Doctoral Capability One coordinated learning journey creates multiple academic outcomes without unnecessarily separating the learner’s management and doctoral development.

The European qualifications within the SwissEU™ pathway are awarded by EuroAmerican Institute (EAI), Malta, a higher education institution licensed by the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority (MFHEA).

Under Higher Education Institution Licence No. 2024-032, EAI operates as a Higher Education Institution in Malta. Its approved programmes are positioned within the Malta Qualifications Framework (MQF) and referenced to the European Qualifications Framework (EQF).

MFHEA is Malta’s competent authority for the licensing, accreditation and quality assurance of further and higher education.

The Swiss qualification within the SwissEU™ dual-qualification pathway is awarded by the European Institute of Management and Technology (EIMT), Switzerland, a private education institution established in the Canton of Zug.

EIMT combines a Swiss academic identity with an international quality-assurance profile focused on applied education, business, management and professional development.

Its institutional quality framework includes ACBSP accreditation candidacy, private external quality assurance, quality certification and international professional memberships.

EIMT has been granted candidacy status in the accreditation process of the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), an international organisation specialising in the accreditation of business and business-related education programmes.

ACBSP candidacy represents a formal developmental stage in the accreditation process, involving institutional review, quality improvement and progression toward the applicable ACBSP standards.

Candidate status is not the same as accreditation. EIMT or its programmes should be described as ACBSP-accredited only if and when formal accreditation is subsequently granted by ACBSP.

For SwissEU™ learners, this adds an international business-education quality dimension to the Swiss component of the dual-qualification pathway.

In addition to its ACBSP candidacy, EIMT maintains a range of international quality credentials and professional affiliations supporting institutional development, digital learning and applied higher education.

These currently include:

  • QAHE — Private, non-governmental institutional accreditation
  • AQS / ISO/IEC 40180:2017 — Quality certification for technology-enhanced learning
  • EURASHE — Institutional membership
  • USDLA — Professional membership
  • ATHEA — Institutional membership

These credentials represent different forms of external quality assurance, certification and professional engagement. They should not be interpreted as Swiss governmental accreditation or as automatically conferring recognition of EIMT qualifications by third parties.

Information relating to accreditation, recognition, qualification frameworks, memberships and quality assurance is provided for information and transparency purposes only.

Recognition, equivalency, professional use, further study, employment, professional registration, immigration-related use or acceptance of any qualification is not automatic and may vary according to the country, receiving institution, employer, professional body or competent authority.

SwissEU™, SIMI Swiss, EIMT and EAI do not guarantee any specific recognition, acceptance, equivalency or third-party outcome. Learners should verify the requirements applicable to their intended use of the qualification with the relevant receiving organisation or authority.

The EIMT Master’s qualification is a specialised Master’s qualification rather than an MBA.

Its title is aligned with the learner’s approved area of specialisation and applicable academic requirements.

For example, depending on the approved pathway, this may include qualifications such as Master of Strategic Management, Master of Corporate Finance or Master of International Business.

The final title is determined and approved by EIMT.

Where academically appropriate, the Master’s qualification and doctoral qualification may follow the same or a closely related area of specialisation.

The doctoral specialisation must ultimately be supported by the learner’s Doctoral Dissertation and approved by EIMT.

The MBA from EAI and specialised Master’s qualification from EIMT form part of the integrated SwissEU™ academic pathway.

Each institution nevertheless applies its own academic requirements and independently approves its own qualification.

The EIMT specialised Master’s qualification provides a qualification title aligned more directly with the learner’s selected professional specialisation.

Together, they provide complementary academic positioning.

EAI is licensed as a Higher Education Institution by the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority under Licence No. 2024-032.

Individual qualifications remain subject to the applicable institutional and programme approvals.

EIMT operates as a private education institution in Switzerland.

Its qualifications are Swiss private qualifications and should not be represented as Swiss federally accredited university degrees unless the relevant governmental accreditation applies.

The qualifications may be presented for further study, employment or other professional purposes.

International recognition, equivalency and acceptance are not automatic.

They depend on the jurisdiction, intended use and requirements of the receiving authority or organisation.

For EIMT qualifications, the approved specialisation may be incorporated into the qualification title or related academic documentation subject to EIMT’s applicable academic regulations.

The EAI qualifications follow EAI’s approved award structure and academic regulations.

The programme is designed for online delivery through the Swiss Live Class Direct™ model, combining live academic engagement, independent study, research development and doctoral supervision.

The qualifications are independently awarded by:

  • EuroAmerican Institute, Malta
